To know the history of Panama, we must go back to its beginnings, for this we must begin our tour with a visit to the archaeological site of Panama Viejo where the ruins of the first city founded by the Spaniards on August 15, 1519.

From that moment and thanks to its strategic location, Panama appears on the map of trade routes as a territory at the service of international transit, since from its foundation, this city was the center from where the expeditions departed and returned for the conquest and colonization of the Spaniards. This city was an obligatory transit point for shipments of gold and riches from all over the Pacific coast that were sent to Spain, thus awakening the greed of pirates, being this city attacked on several occasions, the most important being that of 1671 caused by Henry Morgan, leaving the city in ruins.

Once this tour is finished, we will drive only 8 kilometers and we will be visiting the Casco Antiguo, the name given to the site where Panama City was moved in 1673. Here we will make a walking tour and where we can visit the four squares, religious monuments and the interior of two museums of great interest in our history.

From here we will go to the marina to enjoy a delicious lunch and we will have the opportunity to visit the Bio Museum (only Friday-Saturday or Sunday) to finish our historical tour with our jewel “The Panama Canal” we will visit the Miraflores visitor center to appreciate this great work of engineering that continues to surprise many despite its 108 years of operation.
