To visit the expansion of the Panama Canal, we must go to the Atlantic zone and be able to observe the majestic work of engineering that continues to surprise many and that has allowed with this expansion to keep this small country in the main logistics of the maritime business.

Our guide will make a summary of the history of the previous canal so you can understand why the citizens of Panama under popular vote approved the expansion, the time of construction and explain the differences between the previous locks and the new ones.

Then we will take our bus and take the third port on the Panama Canal, and the only one on the Atlantic side, it is a concrete cable-stayed bridge with 4,605 meters long and holder of the world record for having the longest visible span at 530 meters.

It is undoubtedly the luxury entrance that the Atlantic needed to welcome ships transiting the Panama Canal from Atlantic to Pacific, and on the Pacific side, it closes our historic Bridge of the Americas.

Our driver will take us to the SAN LORENZO FORTRESS, whose construction was completed in 1601, in order to protect the entrance of the Chagres River from pirates, we will be amazed by its majestic view as it was built on top of the reef. Together with our guide you will have the opportunity to do the tour in the fortress and at the end of the tour the rest of our team will be waiting for you for a brief snack of tropical fruits and an aperitif with soft drinks without alcohol due to the Panamanian law that does not allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public.

The return to Panama City, we will do it with the historic passenger train PANAMA CANAL RAILWAY, which is very close to the Panama Canal Administration building, monuments of the canal area and the town of Ancon, which our guide will give us a tour of the area to culminate our day at dinner at the Marina de Amador, with a beautiful view of the Bay of Panama and the city fully illuminated, once finished dinner and the traffic is less heavy to return to Coronado.
